Cursive
Remember cursive handwriting?
What happened to it? I mean, I remember being taught how to write in cursive for years, and yet nobody ever used it after third grade, and I haven't seen it since, except for signatures. I think I've even forgotten what certain letters look like in cursive It was supposed to save time to write in it, but it never did. Ever. If you ask me, cursive handwriting was a sham, just mindless busywork to keep children busy because educators couldn't think of a real cirriculum for their students. All that time they spent teaching me to use a writing technique which proved to be obsolete a few years after I learned it they might've taught me a different language instead. I might speak more than one language now if they had, instead of the rudimentary Spanish that I barely remember from college courses. It's extremely perplexing to me why the American education system is so fucking backwards in some areas.
Nobody writes in cursive, let's face it. Not you, not your friends, not your neighbors. Nobody. It's dead. Stop teaching it. Start teaching the kids how to use computers and speak Chinese, since China owns us, so we might as well learn their language, because that's all anyone will speak in a few decades' time.
Cursive. What a waste of my fucking time. Eh, but I would have wasted it, anyway.
