Congrats! It's a man-child!
So, I'm twenty-five years old starting today. Don't know what to make of it, except I should probably get going on some things I haven't.
It would be a happier occasion, had my laptop not crapped out on me again this morning. So I guess whoever "repaired" it last time is a fraudulent retard. And Sony actually sent that guy. I guess you get what you pay for. Well, hopefully they'll be sensible enough not to charge this time, either. And maybe this guy will do his job right this time.
Thankfully I have everything back up on disc, and just reinforced it a few days ago. So, it's not all bad luck. I'll even try to update OR: Side Story tonight with my parody of a scene from Zeta Gundam (though I need to rewrite my commentary because I never backed that up).
Weirdly enough, as I brought up my e-mail on the desktop after raging over my lappy, I got an e-mail from Wendee Lee, the voice actress who was the English dub voice for characters like Faye Valentine from Cowboy Bebop and Angel from Big O. Recently she was Haruhi in The Melancholy Haruhi Suzumiya, and I made a comment on how I doubted Lee's ability to do the singing scene in the "Live A Live" episode, when Haruhi sings at a school fair. I made this comment on ANN months ago, but I guess Ms. Lee just read it recently, because she e-mailed me to scold me about it, telling me that she had been trained in singing, and "And how do you make your living?" I can't argue with that. If this is really Wendee Lee, I'm pretty honored, even if she hates me. By the way, I watched the bit with her version of those songs, and they're pretty decent. Wendee Lee: 1 Michael Fitz-Gibbon: 0. If beforehand that all I needed to do to get one of my favorite voice actors to e-mail me was to say something crappy about them, I would have done it years ago. If you'll excuse me, I need to come up with something bad to say about Steven Blum so I can get his attention next.
Hey, think I can get that position at ANN now, now that I've broken through to the voice acting community?
I had this weird dream last night that I was being pursued in this really tall building and that certain elevators only went up a few floors. It sort of reminded me of a school, a hotel, and a library (or bookstore) all in one. I'm not sure if there are any implications to the dream. I doubt it.
Because my laptop is being a douche again, I watched a burned DVD of Gundam 00 on the big TV. I really need to burn better fansubs onto DVD, because the subtitles are really hard to read on a real TV, unless you're really close. Maybe the screen size of the fansub is wrong. I eventually got the hang of it, though. Speaking of which, it shouldn't be too long before 00 is out on R1 DVDs proper, so I'll be sure to pick those up.
I have a mission for you all: Go out, find a Five Guys Burgers and Fries joint, and eat there. Fucking peanut fries are delicious.
Later. :D
